From products to services, industrial design is everywhere. World Industrial Design Day promotes awareness of the contribution designers and academics have made to the discipline and the collaborations that help improve economic, social, cultural and environmental quality of life.

"Industrial Design is Open" has been announced as the 2013 World Industrial Design Day theme. Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) is celebrating World Industrial Design Day on June 29 to recognize the contribution of designs in Canada. Along with trademark and patent protection, intellectual property (IP) assets play an important role in any company's strategy.

Industrial design is a valuable IP right that helps promote innovation, economic growth, and creativity in Canada. To learn how to protect your designs or how to search the Canadian Industrial Designs Database, visit CIPO Industrial Designs.
